Hung Gar Kuen
Hung Gar Kuen - "the Fist of the Hung Family", is a traditional Chinese martial art taught in Cantonese and practiced in the South. It is one of the most famous of all the Kung Fu styles.
I can offer instruction one-on-one or in a group format. I hold a lineage through Gam Bok Yin, Chiu Wai, Chiu Kao, Lam Tsai Wing, to Wong Fei Hung. For more information, please visit Sifu Gam Bok Yin's excellent and informative website (click button, below).

For a very rich discussion of the martial arts philosophy that I follow, watch this series of interviews with my esteemed Sifu. My classes and teaching method are derived from this perspective and method.
Authentic Kung Fu Academy, St John's.

The goal of my new school of Hung Gar, in St. John's, Newfoundland, is to deepen mind-body-spirit connections through diligent and regular practice. Long term health, self-confidence, and discipline are the goals we are aiming for.

Kung Fu means "Achievement through great effort." This is as much a spiritual pursuit as it is a physical one.

In the traditional way, we do not offer belts or certificates - progress is measured by peer recognition, organic skill development, and self confidence. Daily practice is highly encouraged.
We offer 4 regular adult classes per week. If you would like to learn Hung Gar with us, subscribe to our newsletter for prices, location, and a free week of trial lessons.
