Peter Duchemin - Artist, etc...
Dr. Peter Duchemin is a diverse artist across many media from theatre, to magic, to painting. He grew up between St. John’s and Ottawa and spent almost a decade living in Hong Kong where he took the Cantonese name Douh Syu Meng, meaning “Road, Book, Bright”. Based in Newfoundland, his work is global in scope and he has played, shown, and presented in dozens of countries across five continents. He currently lives and works creatively in St John’s where he makes images, reads Tarot, practices Kung Fu, and explores reality by actively participating in it.

Beautiful Lines
These works are studies in line, shape, and rhythm – and are experiments in the media of ink and brush. They were influences by Chinese and Japanese aesthetics – particularly the zen circle, “ensō” – and also by the art and writing of Wassily Kandinsky. White is potential, black is form, gold is force, & red is life.
