If language functions referentially in most ordinary circumstances and nonreferentially in the case of magical language, barbarous names, and nonsense - then it's fair to say that nonsense is a potent creative agent - the mother of sense. Comics represent a hybrid textual medium - like hieroglyphics, but also like alphabetic text - anyways all text is implicitly magical, some -the weird stuff- is explicitly magical. So how about some surreal comics as primordial, sense-birthing nonsense?
