The eights are like signals that emerge out of the background noise of the 7s. The ethos of 8 'seals the corners' of the house of language so that the mind can launch initiatives within a smooth space of communication. 8 is the magician's number, and it calls to mind the lemniscate, or 'infinity symbol'. Each 8 gives evidence of a choice and suggest an action with a deliberate outcome. The Wands act with intense suddenness and initiative. The Cups know what they want and don't want - they can resist glamorous opportunities that don't match their true path. The swords play a delicate (almost lawyer-like) role of extricating us, clause by clause from entrapments, and the pentacles produce volumes of works, one after another -ever alert to catch and correct errors each time. In short - used correctly the 8's all effect the will. Know your purpose, and bask in the Splendor of the 8's.
