The Self is a Philosopher's Stone!

The seven planetary powers are streams of story which carry ontological momentum and crystalize into a singularity which is the "self" as a synthesis of forces. A crude account would label this an "ego". To be sure, it is an integration of primordial forces - and to be sure, it is merely a bridge-point in a process that will ultimately transcend it - but "ego", which means "I am" in Latin, has been corrupted by foolish chatter and portrayed as what it is not. I have no interest in regurgitating consumerist new-age platitudes.

So lets talk instead about the harmonized self, which concatenates at the center of the Tree of life and composes a braid of seven drives - death, peace, war, beauty, love, intelligence, and mystery. The self is a philosopher's stone - how blithely we take it for granted, like an inheritance bestowed upon ingrates.

The seven-day week is a seal which produces this synthesis - so one can say that the seven day week is a kind of laboratory in which this particular stone is wrought. On the Heptagram the planets go around the outside in the order: Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon - the so called "Platonic order" which records the speed of the planets in the night sky from slowest (Saturn) to quickest (Moon). When the interior lines of the star are traced, we find the order of the days of the week: Saturday/Saturn, Sunday/Sun, Monday/Moon, Tuesday/Mars, Wednesday/Mercury, Thursday/Jupiter, and Friday/Venus. This ordering is very ancient.

The 7-day week is a time vehicle, a chariot which carries us through time, and also outputs the "stone" of integrated forces which we called the Self. The seven-day week is an independent calendrical entity - like a mitochondrion which entered into symbiosis with the Roman Calendar in the early centuries of the so-called "common era". Calendars are usually composite, in this way, and sometimes their cycles or subcycles can be extracted and placed into other contexts. The 7 day week is an extraordinary magickal spell - and when we empower the planetary stream, we too become empowered agents.
