Week of the Foundation

It's Friday, and Foundation week begins now on the Forest of Life Venus Calendar.

The Ogdoad reveals the Ennead, so it is said. When the 8 corners of the mind's house are established, the center becomes a rich nexus of all thought, all sense, all dreams.

When we stand here in strength, we can move the world.

The foundation of the world is dream - imagination. This is why, on the magickal paths, we train our capacity to visualize.

Here is an exercise. Find a place to sit and meditate - a strong place, like a great Stone, or a well laid-out temple. Sit there and breathe. Breathe and focus on being the point of connection between the sky and the earth. Root in strength deep into the ground and in your mind's eye envision a great tortoise, rising up from the deep below you. You are seated on this enormous living being - this world tortoise. Close your eyes and go deep into communion with this being - this is the living foundation.

Ask its name.

This is for you to know - don't tell others. Know that when you call the name of this being, it will come to support you and in turn, give it love, respect, gratitude. Connect it to the myriad web of all beings and it will grow strong beneath you, holding you up and holding your world together.

This is a talisman of grounding and foundational support. In ancient China it was called the Lo Shu, and it was first witnessed on the back of a great turtle.

Keep this magick square talisman in a safe place. Should you ever wish to dispose of it, bury it, or burn it.

This is a week of laying foundations. Do the things that will make you strong in the weeks and months to come.
