When Poems Fail...

When poems fail,

For lack of fire,

And armies are neutral,

For lack of hope,

And words are empty,

For lack of grip,

And struggles are lost,

For lack of courage,

Fire up a poem,

Sing to your hosts,

Hold fast, and fear not.

The world is bigger, wider...

Time is greater, stretching...

Dignity twinkles in her belly,

And even the resigned will breathe freely,

Take heart.
