...and the Veils

Veils upon veils upon veils - without end... for every layer of reality that is made intelligible, the mystery remains inscrutable and inexhaustible. To pursue it, imagining a goal or final state is to miss its true meaning. To dissolve into the pursuit, just as the veils billow out all around us, accreting worlds and worlds and worlds without end - to swim into the source like a salmon going home. That is the Way.

For every veil that we traverse, the universe’s inexhaustible reservoir of the uncounted dwarfs our paltry knowledge - and this is the lesson. Not the infinite quest to explore deeper and deeper hallways - but the relationship that is eternally sustained- the relationship between the explored and the unexplored: the ratio between the infinite and the finite. This is the place where the microcosm and the macrocosm kiss. This horizon where we infinitely burgeon, yet never swell. The cusp of what we call “Being and Non-Being”. The cusp itself is eternity. Those of gnosis become the cusp.
