The Tetrahedron is the first point at which volume may be realized.
Plato ascribed it to the element of fire in his dialogue, the Timaeus. It is an excellent emblem for order and stability to a great degree because it is self-dual: connecting the center of all four faces by lines reveals a smaller tetrahedron within - a process that goes on into infinity. It symbolizes order, then, largely because it can scale into infinity without transforming. It can resist change.
Before we laugh at this and dismiss it for hubris - consider - this conceit, that change can be ultimately resisted - is, however flawed and uncool - sometimes the best approach to a chaotic and unlivable state of affairs. Establishing an order of relations that is secure will do much for human abundance, happiness and safety, and so long as the order does not become corrupt (its tragic flaw), it is emphatically a good thing.
The Tetrahedron is part of a much greater puzzle - a philosophy, psychology, and spirituality of geometry.
Four creates live-able worlds, with shareable rules and dependable patterns.
